The Big Walk 2019! · 28 June 2019 ·
Thanks for visiting my Big Walk 2019 Just Giving Page.
I'm taking taking part once again in the Big Walk walk challenge on Friday 28th June 2019. I'm completing a 23 mile route through the Peak District, taking in Ladybower, Derwent Edge and Bradfield before making my way down to the University for a celebratory finish. Hopefully!!
Why am I doing this?
I'm walking with a team, 'The Outreach Warriors', to give students the opportunity to come and study at Sheffield by fundraising for scholarships. Scholarships are vital to reduce barriers for bright students from disadvantaged backgrounds, giving them the opportunity to have a university education.
Unfortunately, the cost of university is increasing, which is reducing the number of students able to attend university from lower income and disadvantaged backgrounds. From my experience I see what a barrier worrying about funding your way through university can be, and why this is the reason many young people from such backgrounds see this as a reason not enter Higher Education.
So please donate to my page to help give students the opportunity to come and study here at Sheffield.
