Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
Twelve months ago, I was diagnosed with breast cancer and the last year has been really difficult - I have been through chemotherapy, mastectomy, radiotherapy and am still on targeted treatments and hormone treatments. The emotional aftermath is ongoing. I have benefitted however from scientific research to develop better treatments and as an oncologist, I know how important research is. I graduated from the medical school at Nottingham and trained there as an oncologist. This is my opportunity to give something back. The money raised is going straight into the labs to support three projects - one to develop a blood test for early detection (this could benefit ladies in the future, including my gorgeous girls), prevent known breast cancer from spreading and develop new drugs for a particularly nasty form of breast cancer. Frankie and myself are cycling 10 miles (Olivia on the back of my bike) and Steve is tackling the 25 mile ride.
Anything you can spare is really appreciated and it is all going straight into the lab teams with no overheads!
We are grateful to you all xxxx
