Story
After many years in the Life Safety Industry designing sophisticated systems to detect and extinguish fire I am taking this one step further and at 4.45pm on Saturday 17 November I will be trying to extinguish flames using my feet!!
I will be taking part in a Firewalk to raise money in memory of Taylan Rawlinson for Brain Tumour Research at Claydon House, Buckinghamshire MK18 2EX. If you are able please come along and support everyone who is taking part.
As many of you will know I have watched many people close to me battle brain tumours, friends, family, colleagues and of course Taylan.
It has been 3 years now since the loss of Taylan and I have been heavily involved with Taylan's Project since then, the facts are astonishing and make me more determined to do what I can;
· Over 16,000 people in the UK are diagnosed with a brain tumour each year.
· 20% of all cancers now spread to the brain.
· More men under the age of 45, and women under the age of 35, die from a brain tumour than from any other form of cancer.
I am not asking for much and I am truly grateful to each and every one of you who supports me, but if you can spare just £2 it would be greatly appreciated. I am doing this to raise funds but more importantly awareness so we can make a difference and give hope to the thousands of people and their families affected, together we can improve the research into the causes of, and hopefully one day a possible cure for brain tumours.
