Story
Thank you for visiting our CB300 fundraising page.
The 'Chris Bennett 300' is a 300Km Audax cycling event, devised by Chris Bennett and due to take place in his memory on 27th April 2013. Chris was intending to complete a trial run of the event, had he not suddenly and unexpectedly passed away on a sunny April 1st 2012. A brave group of local cyclists decided to undertake this challenge last April and, thanks to the hard work and commitment of Chris's cycling buddies, they will be turning his vision of a 300k Audax in Devon and Cornwall into reality in April 2013. To read an account of the 'first ever' CB300 by Kevin Presland and Graham Brodie, pics and for more information about the ride itself, please visit the CB300 Facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/ChrisBennett300
When Chris's heart stopped out on a ride with his local cycling club, the group was on a narrow and isolated country lane. Devon Air Ambulance was on the scene within moments. Chris's family and friends will always be grateful to the Devon Air Ambulance Trust for being there at his time of need and for doing everything possible to try to save him.
So, to launch this first 'official' CB300, all those who make a donation to the Devon Air Ambulance Trust via this page by 27th April 2013 will be entered into a draw to win a Team Sky cycling jersey, signed by members of the team including Mr.Wiggins (please look under images on this page for a picture of the jersey and certificate of authenticity).
So, if you would like to join us in celebrating this event by supporting the Devon Air Ambulance Trust and/or have a go at winning yourself an authentic piece of historic cycling memorabilia, please make a donation to Devon Air Ambulance Trust via this page, ensuring that you tick the box enabling us to see your e-mail address so that we can contact you if you win!
Thank you!
