We fund long-term, sustainable research to find a cure for brain tumours

Story

As most of you hopefully know, my crazy boyfriend Callum Gathercole and his mate from Bristol Uni, Jay Olenicz are rowing 3000 miles across the Atlantic in 2015 as part of 'The Waterbabies Atlantic Row' to raise money for three fantastic charities: The Princess Alice Hospice, BRACE and Brain Tumour Research.

Even though rowing (thankfully) isn't my thing, I still want to take to the water to raise money so I'm completing a sponsored swim! Before Christmas, I aim to swim 3000 lengths, one length for every mile 'The Waterbabies' row across the Atlantic. I will be squeezing in these 100 length sessions alongside my studies as a second year medical student at the University of Edinburgh as well as training and competing for the university lacrosse team.

Sadly, Callum's dad died of a brain tumour two years ago so the charity that I have chosen to raise money for is Brain Tumour Research. This charity is terribly under-funded. It is therefore so important to fundraise for them so that more can be understood about brain tumours which could save the lives of many in the future.

Thank you very much for your support and please donate generously!

Brain tumours kill more children and adults under the age of 40 than any other cancer. Just 1% of the national spend on cancer research has been allocated to this disease. We are a leading voice calling for support and action for research into what is called the last battleground against cancer.
