Story

In 2020 our much loved friend and colleague Sarah Mealing nee Lee, tragically lost her battle with Ovarian Cancer, taken much too soon from us all.

In her 30 years with Bright Horizons, Sarah was a nursery practitioner, Deputy Manager and Nursery Manager, before joining the Bright Horizons Marketing Team. She is remembered fondly by all those who came into contact with her for her kindness, sense of fun and energy, and holds a special place in the hearts of her friends and family.

During her life, Sarah was a keen supporter of the Bright Horizons Foundation - most recently in 2019 when she instigated and completed the 25km Thames Bridges Trek with her Bright Horizons friends and colleagues, raising thousands of pounds for Bright Spaces.

We are  fundraising as a community to create a Bright Space in Sarah's memory, in partnership with Sarah's family, to provide a relaxing, calming place for children to play and relax, during a difficult time in their lives.

We are in early discussions with a potential partner in Northampton, and more details will be shared once we are able to do so.

All donations are gratefully received and will make a difference. Thank you so much for your support.

About the charity

We create Bright Spaces; enriching play environments for children experiencing crisis and disadvantage. Our Bright Spaces are in domestic refuges, homeless shelters, child protection interview suites, hopitals and prisons. They enable children to have fun, learn and heal from trauma through play.
