Story
Thanks for visiting my fundraising page.
I am organizing the Fourth Bridge with Afternoon Tea in aid of Georgie's Genes ( if you haven't already seen info re the event please find details below) to raise funds for research into my great niece, Georgie’s, very rare Muscular Dystrophy condition, L-CMD. Bridge events to date have raised £7500.
L-CMD is so rare that there is little knowledge about the disease progression and there are only a handful of children in the UK that have this, as yet, incurable, degenerative and life-shortening condition.
Working closely with Muscular Dystrophy UK and Cure CMD, an American charity, the funds raised by Georgie’s Genes is supporting a study investigating genetic modifiers which will help with better understanding of the condition and planning when clinical trials for drugs become available.
Donating through Just Giving, whether you are coming to the event or not, is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with Just Giving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity,Georgie's Genes Family Fund with Muscular Dystrophy UK. So, it’s the most efficient way to donate, saving time and cutting costs for the charity.
