Story
2019 3rd Annual ‘Bridge with Afternoon Tea’ in aid of Georgie’s Genes
Thank you for reading my Just Giving page
My dear little great niece, Georgie is the only child in Scotland diagnosed with the Muscular Dystrophy type LMNA CMD. There are a few cases in England and around one hundred diagnosed in the rest of the world. Michael and Lindsey,Georgie’s parents, have worked hard to ascertain that all funds raised on behalf of Georgie’s Genes will go directly to fund research into L-CMD.
I feel it is very important to support ‘Georgie’s Genes’ by raising funds for research and to raise awareness of this as yet incurable condition.
In November 2018 Muscular Dystrophy were able to announce that Professor Giselle Bonne at the Sorbonne in Paris is undertaking a research project to find and tailor treatments for those with a mutation in the Lamin A/C gene. The mutation of the gene leads to progressive muscle weakness of the skeletal, respiratory and heart muscles.
You can support this very worthwhile cause by coming to play Bridge, eat a delicious afternoon tea, take part in a raffle and buy a lucky key to open a box containing a Star Prize.
If you cannot come to the event, you may wish to make a donation via this Just Giving page.
