“Lets cycle to Paris and raise some money for Cancer Research UK”….
It started out as a crazy idea and over the winter months it remained, just a crazy idea. Easy to talk about, difficult to do, as most didn’t own a bike, and I had the (dubious) honour of possessing more lycra than the rest put together. That’s all changed now…
So, here’s the plan.
In early June, a bunch of 16 friends and pint drinkers from Cambridge’s finest pub, The Free Press, will cycle from Cambridge to Paris. We are doing this to honour family and close friends who have bravely fought cancer and to raise money to support the work of Cancer Research UK.
We are an unashamedly motley crew, 12 cyclists and 4 ‘support’ crew, but what we may lack in experience and preparedness we will make up for in enthusiasm and passion. The journey is about 350 miles and will take us 5 days.
You know I don’t do this sort of thing, so please dig deep and help me reach my target of £1,000 towards our team target of £10,000.
Please note that as a team we are meeting all our expenses out of our own pockets, so all monies raised will go to Cancer Research UK.
