Brian was such a wonderful human being, a true gentleman and a big man in many respects. He was a journalist I'd admired and enjoyed reading for many years before actually meeting him. When I finally met him he was an even nicer bloke than I'd envisaged. Never meet your heroes they say, well in this instance I'm glad I did. What a dreadful loss.

Brian was a longtime member of the Guild and a past committee member. Your donation to the Guild's Benevolent Fund will help fellow motoring journalists in need of support and keep Brian's name at the forefront of our minds.

He might have gone but thankfully, some of the millions of words he's written over the years live on in his 50 or so books.
