The deed is done! Waistlength hair is now less than an inch long. Anyone else want to donate now I've gone through with it?  Total is currently over £1500, including Gift Aid :)

I am raising money for JDRF - the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation - as my 12 year old son Josh has Type 1 Diabetes. He was diagnosed two weeks before his 4th birthday and has to endure so much because of it; his fingers being pricked up to ten times a day, an insulin pump is attached to him 24/7 through a needle into his body. He's needlephobic so it's really hard for him. He has to have all the food he eats weighed and measured, there is no spontaneity in his life as everything has to be planned for. No life for a child and no life for us as a family. I have to be able to get to him at school within minutes if something goes wrong.

He needs you to help raise money for the vital research that is being carried out to help him and all the other children like him.

I currently have waist length hair but - subject to reaching my goal - I shall be having all but an inch of it cut off on 3 May when Josh has his annual meet-up with other children who go through the same as him.  The cut hair will be donated to the Little Princess Trust, who make wigs for children undergoing chemotherapy - they should get three wigs out of my hair.
