Brecon 10 Peaks Challenge · 20 February 2010

The young people we work with need our help more than ever. They face challenges and may live in potentially harmful or disadvantaged environments. We use outdoor adventure and one-to-one support to empower them to fulfil their potential and lead positive lives in the future.

Story

Hi Guys,

Thanks so much for visiting our page, especially in this poor/doom month of January.

Me, Tobs, Lizzie and Simela The Great are trying to raise £1,000 for The Mitchemp Trust by doing something a little crazy. On February 20th 2010 we are going to walk 10 peaks of the Brecon Beacons in 10 hours, which is not easy and will defo be very cold!

The Mitchemp Trust are a local charity to Bristol and they aim to help local young people with their confidence and life skills. They really do awesome stuff for some kids who are really struggling, and the main way they do this is by running 3 camps a year for every young person who they support.

In 2009 they had to cancel their camps because of financial difficulties, which was obviously really tough for all those involved. I was supposed to be volunteering at their summer camp in the Beacons and it was really gutting for this not to go ahead. This event is one of the ways we can stop this happening in 2010.

So please, if you can just help out a bit it would be so amazing.

I normally hate all this charity begging, but i know how much it will be appreciated if we can get close to our target.

Maybe just have a look at the website (www.mitchemptrust.org.uk) and see what you think.

Thanks SO MUCH,

Lots of love,

Soph

xx

p.s. does anyone have a compass I can borrow please?!
