Bolton Bulls Wheelchair basketball club (Registered Charity number 1057350) are currently playing in the 2 division of the National League.
The club which has been running for approximately 30 years is largely financed through the players subscriptions and as such are always on the look out for additional funding to help cover club costs which include:
Court hire for training (2 hours a week @ £37.00 per hour)
Team Registration fees (Total of approximately £450.00 for team \ player registration)
Home Match costs @ Approximately £350.00 per match covering officials, court hire & post match refreshments (We have approximately 7 home games currently scheduled per season)
Kit (12 x numbered vests, 2 sets Light & Dark for Home & Away) Approximately £700.00 for the 2 sets
Wheelchair maintenance, which includes but is not limited to
Tyres – approximately £21 a pair
Wheels - £225.00 per pair
Spokes - £6.25 each
Push rims - £29 each
Axle Pins - £27.25 each
Castors - £28.25 each
Basic strapping – Approximately £30 (this varies depending on individual player.)
The club tries to assist where finances allow to meet the costs of wheelchair maintenance. However, in most cases individual players have to come up with the funding for their own basketball wheelchairs from companies such ashttp://www.rgklife.com/products/sport.php# and generally cost in the region of £2000, £2500 each.
