Story

Welcome to our JustGiving page!

We are a team of women who are enthusiastic about our running and we are competing in the Chariots of Fire which is one of Cambridgeshire’s largest annual charity events in September.

The race follows in the footsteps of the famous film, taking its scenic route through the streets and colleges of Cambridge, with teams of six each running a 1.7 mile course in relay format.  Sponsorship monies for 2015 are being raised for the official recipient charity EACH. Chariots of Fire is organised and managed by Hewitsons Charitable Trust.

Our mission is to train in pairs over the summer and then meet every six weeks to practise our relays and get fitter in the process. Please support us in our challenge by donating to this wonderful charity! :-)

Meet the Team

Michelle Bird: A fitness instructor and owner of Bodymode, Michelle loves healthy competition and has been running for just over a year. She is excited to take part with a team of like-minded women, who cherish their fitness time and love to embrace their bodies with challenges.

Laura Elliott: A working mum to two little girls. She loves to run for some escapism and some 'me' time! Currently running 10k distance so a 1.7mile relay race is something different to train for. She is excited to be party of team Bodymode this year in the Chariots of Fire race.

Sam Wool: Another working mum who runs to keep fit and escape the madness of home ;-)  She enjoys social running as well as competing in a variety or 5 and 10k races and is currently training for the GER Half Marathon but needs to step up her sprint training to meet the Chariots of Fire challenge.

Gail Burgess: I am a working mum of two boys who enjoys running to keep fit. I enjoy running on my own but also with others. I'm really looking forward to training and participating as a team.

Rachel Adams: A mum of two who enjoys exercising in the evenings to unwind. This is her first competitive race and she's looking forward to the challenge that chariots of fire will bring.

Elinor Tyler: What Eli lacks in speed she makes up for in enthusiasm and determination! She last ran in a Chariots of Fire team in 2001 and hopes to beat her time of 13 minutes this year, with her young son cheering her on.
