Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

Since taking early retirement, I have taken up cycling again. To date I have done up to 40 mile rides on a hybrid bike. I am now getting a road bike. This ride is not just 54 miles, but includes over 1000 metres of climbing - definitely out of my comfort zone - I've only done a third of that to date so will need to up my training, to make sure I am ready for the challenge. Having cycled for 50 miles, the final challenge will be the climb of Ditchling Beacon - about a miles work of climbing at a gradient of 10%.

I am following a training plan of British Cycling, this involves at least three rides a week, rides each work on different abilities, such as endurance, power, hill climbing ability, etc.
