Story
On the 13th May 2017, tying in with my 70th Birthday Celebrations I, Bob Eldridge, Chair of the Trustees at The People’s Kitchen, will be undertaking a charity challenge bike ride cycling from Land’s End to John O’Groats to raise much needed funds for The People’s Kitchen
From the very toe to the very tip I’ll be covering the entire length of mainland Britain covering over 1,000 miles, through three countries in just 14 days. I’ll be travelling north from Land’s End in order to take advantage of prevailing winds, following the Cornish coast, the wilds of
Dartmoor and cross the River Severn into Hereford. Heading further north I’ll pass through the Yorkshire Dales and Cumbria and then cross the border into Scotland. Before long I’ll be following the shoreline of Loch Ness, passing Inverness and heading for John O’Groats.
The People’s Kitchen provides friendship and food, 52 weeks
a year, clothing, sleeping bags, shower facilities and programmes to help towards independent living, combat loneliness and isolation.
With over 200 volunteers who donate their time for free and
with no government grants The People’s Kitchen relies solely on charitable donations so please help me in reaching the target (see opposite)
Even the smallest donations can make a big difference.
Donating through Just Giving is simple, fast and totally
secure. Your details are safe with Just Giving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted e-mails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to The People’s Kitchen and will make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. Please help me to make a big difference.
