Oldies Club has so far spent over £855 on Blue's vet bills.
Update ~ 20 Feb 2011:
Hello again, Blue here. Just to let you know that I am doing well. My foster family say I am much more energetic and eating like a horse! I take my medicine well, twice a day and am feeling much happier than before :-) My stitches are due to come out this week.
Oldies Club has already paid out almost £700 for my vet bill for two days earlier this month, with more to come. Thank you to everyone who has very kindly donated towards this :-)
My foster family say I am one of the gentlest dogs they have known, who will do anything to please. They are really enjoying my company and look forward to the time I can go galloping across the fields! Me too!

Hi, I’m Blue, a 13 year old rather handsome, male Border Collie, who recently came into the care of Oldies Club. I arrived with a large lump under my tail, which was growing fast and really bothering me :-(
Oldies Club arranged for my lump to be looked at very soon after arriving in foster care. The vet diagnosed it as a perineal hernia which would need a major and urgent operation to repair it, with total costs likely to be around £1,000!
Can you make a donation today, towards my veterinary care? The alternative to surgery would have been putting me to sleep, so I am rather relieved that the charity decided to go ahead with my operation and arranged for my hernia to be removed a few days ago.
Unfortunately the operation was more complicated than it should have been, because I had been suffering from this condition for some time. My bowel was under considerable stress and everyone is hoping that there are no complications for me in the next 3-4 weeks, since the vet would be reluctant to operate on me for a second time. Oldies Club is very glad that they have given me this chance though, as without it, I would certainly have had no future at all.
I am a lovely, friendly dog who is great with people, other dogs and cats and am in otherwise good health and very lively for my age. I am now back at my foster home and seemingly in good shape and hopefully this operation will have given me a new lease of life for years to come.
Oldies Club would really appreciate your help, with what is likely to be a large final bill for my treatment. The charity does not have a complete total at the moment, but understands it will be in the region of £1000.
Oldies Club is really glad that the charity was able to offer me a foster place and ensure that I quickly received the veterinary care that I urgently needed. The charity always makes sure the dogs in its care receive any treatment they need, but in some cases, like mine, these costs can very quickly mount up, so please donate whatever you can, to help pay for my treatment.
Please note that should Oldies Club supporters be generous enough to donate more than is needed for Blue’s vet bill, any excess money will be directed to the charity’s general fund and used to help other older dogs in its care.
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page :-)
