Story
I'm attempting to run the Bob Graham Round (http://bobwightman.co.uk/run/bob_graham.php). This is way tougher than anything I've ever done. It is a 70 mile run over 42 peaks in the Lake District with a total ascent equivalent to running up and down Everest and has to be completed in under 24 hours. I've been training for 6 months for it and success is not guarranteed.
I'm doing it for the Stroke Association. My Dad passed away last year after suffering a debhilitating stroke 6 months earlier. So I know what good work the Association do for sufferers and their families.
I wasn't going to do this event for charity, but as a personnal challenge. However it's going to be the toughest thing I'm ever likely to do and although I did an event for charity last year, I simply felt I had to use the opportunity to raise some money for a cause that is close to my heart. So I appreciate that if you sponsored me then it's a lot to ask for money again.
I have also been inspired by the example of a friend who is raising money over the course of a year doing 30 events to raise £30,000 for 30 charities. So will be putting my total towards her goal.
I will be attempting the Bob Graham on 14th June and will post regular updates about my progress between now and then.
