On August the 19th, Andrew and Neil will set off on a 450 mile cycle from Blaenavon, South Wales to Bangor, North Wales in aid of Cancer Research Wales.

Our journey will lead us south from Blaenavon to Cardiff, where we’ll follow Wales’ coastal path west into Neath Port Talbot. From there our route will encompass a mixture of national cycle routes and sections of the coastal path, leading us around Wales’ coast and parts of the Snowdonia National Park to our final destination in Bangor. We aim to cycle around 100 miles a day and complete our journey within 4-5 days.

Cancer Research Wales provide invaluable work in the fight against cancer and any donation is hugely appreciated and will help to make a difference to countless lives.

For me (Andrew) raising money for the fight against cancer has a very real significance in my recent life. In 2010 my father was diagnosed through the work of Bowel Screening Wales. Luckily this diagnosis was early enough that treatment could be delivered and my father survived the terrible disease. Without organisations such as Bowel Screening Wales and the continous work of charities like Cancer Research Wales this may not have been the case and I would now be without the love and support of a parent that has always been there for me. I cannot repay what they have given me and my family, but I can hope that the support and funds we raise can at least help and give other families what I have been given.
