Story
After 7 years working in business in London I need a break to take stock and work out where and what I want to be. In an attempt to achieve this I'll be cycling across the USA over 90 days, then living the Aussie lifestyle before heading back to London via South East Asia on the bike in time for the 2012 Olympics. I've bought a bike, some panniers and a tent and, with an very outline plan I'll be heading out from New York in July onto the open road hoping to figure it all out as I go along...
One of the motivations for the cycle across America is to raise money for a local charity that helps out local families and has helped out my own in the past. On visiting them before I left I was inspired by the work that has been done since I was last there, the whole centre has expanded and can now offer better and wider services to special needs children in the area. Of course, these services take money to sustain them and any donations would be gratefully received and put to good use.
Update:
Tomorrow I'll set off on the last leg of my cycle from San Francisco to Los Angeles. So far I've made it across 5,300 miles, 200,000 ft of climbing and 14 states in the USA and Canada - I've only around 500 miles left but I've been told the coastal road isn't exactly flat and I can expect a lot of steep hills over the next week, hope I make it in time for my flight...
