Story

Members of Beverley Rugby club will be taking part in what has become an annual worldwide event amongst thousands of rugby players, when they embark on the Movember Challenge.

Movember as you may have realised is held throughout the month of November and those taking part attempting to grow a mustache with the primary aim of raising awareness of cancer amongst men and raising some money for the Everyman Male Cancer Campaign along the way.

This is a particular cancer charity that is close to many at Beverley Rugby Club as our Captain David Worrall was diagnosed with Testicular Cancer a couple of years ago.  David has now fully recovered and has undertaken a number of fundraising activities to raise awareness and funds including many grueling walks with support from his family and friends.

Therefore the players at the club thought it was about time his team mates helped......so from the 1st November they shall be perfecting their very own mo's for Movember.  David is well known for his love of the Ginger Mo despite claiming its strawberry blonde and will certainly take some beating in the style stakes but with a few kiwis, a South African and a Slovenian in their ranks there are sure to be several interesting growths appearing over the 30 days of Movember.

Everyman is an appeal run by The Institute of Cancer Research (ICR). Every year some 10,000 men lose their lives to prostate cancer and over 2,000 others have their world turned upside down by a diagnosis of testicular cancer. These men are the reason we are fundraising for male specific cancers.
