Berni Ashworth is raising money for Alzheimer's Research UK
Story
Myself and 38 other willing volunteers have been recruited by our lovely friend Marge to celebrate her turning 40 next year. Part of this celebration is for 40 of us to run the Great North Run 2019 and we would love to raise £40, 000 as a team for Alzheimer’s Research UK.
Marge's step-dad has mixed dementia (Vascular Dementia and Alzheimer's) so this is a cause very close to our hearts.
I have run a few 1/2 marathons in the past (the last one being about 9 years ago) but this one has always been on the list. The training will be tough but we will get there. Anything you could donate to the cause will be gratefully received and help us along the 13.1 miles (especially the little uphill bit at the end)
