Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

I first got involved with Life Cycle 5 last year raising money for Dementia Research. I was excited to learn that Life Cycle 6 would continue the trend of funding innovative, exciting research which the University of Nottingham is uniquely positioned to strategically impact.

This year the cause is Breast Cancer and the I'm fully confident that our researchers here will create the world's first blood test to detect breast cancer early, before it can develop. I've met Professor John Robertson who is one of the lead researchers on this work. His inspirational team will make the miles in the saddle (and strokes in the glacial lake and steps in the high altitude run) all worth it.

Like many families, mine has been struck with Breast Cancer. My mom was diagnosed with Breast Cancer right when I started my undergraduate degree. Thankfully, with early detection and good treatment, my mom made a full recovery. Hopefully this incredible research will enable even earlier detection and treatment for those women most at risk. Let's stop Breast Cancer in its tracks.
