Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

In June 2018 I am cycling more than 300 miles through France from Orleans to Nantes to support the Joe Glover Trust. 

The Joe Glover Trust was set up by Maxine Glover in 2007 following the sad death of her 8 year old son Joe to Non-Hodgkins Lymphoma.

So why am I doing this you say? I have found a new lease of life for challenges, completing my first half marathon and riding the New Forest 100! its also not everyday that get the opportunity to ride through the Loire Valley for a good reason. There are plenty of vineyards en route to keep hydrated as well.

The Joe Glover Trust is a local charity that provides grants for families of children who have been diagnosed with Cancer. This is obviously a truly awful time for these families for a number of reasons. Unfortunately it usually means that a parent of guardian will needs to give up work to care for their child, unbelievably the costs to look after a child with cancer can be over £600 a month. 

The grants from the trust can cover everyday bills such as rent/mortgage, utilities or sadly funeral costs. The trust has even given grants to get a family car fixed so that they can go to hospital. 

Financial support can also given to families to help them go for days out, I am sure a day out to somewhere such as Chessington or Calshot activities to someone who spends most of their time in hospital is truly magical.

This is a really great charity from the Winchester area that supports children throughout Hampshire, Dorset, Wiltshire, West Sussex, Isle of Wight and the Channel Islands so I would really appreciate any donations, no matter how small it seems.

To put it in to perspective:

£25 could pay for a child on a day out

£50 could pay for petrol costs to attend hospital appointments

£100 could pay for the snack box on the Piam Ward at SGH for a month.

£200 could pay for extra tuition for a child that has missed school.

£300 could pay for counselling for a family

£500 could pay towards a mortgage or rent payment for a family.

So what are you waiting for! Please help me reach my target of £500.
