Story
Well........ We made it....... On 21st September 2010 the Leybourne Lovelies made it across the English Channel from Dover (Shakespeares Bay) to France (Cap Gris Nez) in the time of 12hours, 59 minutes and 30secs. It was a truly nailbiting finish coming down to those 30secs of wondering if the next swimmer was needed to go back in for a third swim....
We suffered bouts of sea sickness and swam through seaweed, items of clothing (!) and huge swell produced by even more huge tankers! But, the most important thing in all of this is THAT WE MADE IT and for a wonderful cause too. Wishing Katie and Stef much happiness in the future - Ellen will be in our hearts forever xxx
A massive thank you to those who have already donated to this brilliant charity but please keep giving and see if we can get over £2500. Thank you xx
Becky and Rachael are part of a relay team who are swimming the English Channel in loving memory of Ellen Bober, who sadly passed away last July aged just ten months.
It would be fantastic if nobody needed to use this amazing charity but unfortunately there are people who will continue to need their support.
We are looking to raise £2000 for The Shining Light charity, which is part of the Ellenor Foundation so please give generously, thank you xx
We have just raised our target from £1500 to £2000 so please continue to give generously to this fabulous cause. The swim is being funded purely by ourselves and all the money raised goes directly to the Ellenor Foundation Shining Lights. Thank you again x
