Fundraising for The Polar Academy

Bathgate Academy has been selected for the 2019 Polar Academy Expedition. A group of 20 students (all aged between 13-15) have started their training to prepare all of them for a life-changing experience. Of the 20 students, 10 will lead an expedition to Arctic Greenland in April 2019.
The Polar Academy is a charity that relies solely on donations and as such we will be involved in many activities throughout the year. Each year the Charity requires £170,000 to operate and we need to to get fundraising. There will be a number of events activities throughout the year and we will be doing our utmost to raise the money we need to get our group to the North Pole.
When the students return, they will embark on a tour of schools and work places in West Lothian. With new-found confidence and increased self-esteem they will give talks to pupils, parents, teachers and local businesses about their Polar experience, the challenges they faced and how they overcame them.
