A big thank you from Me, Coops, Cola, T Bayl and Pinch and from Alice, Rach, Hayley, George and Alex. The page will stay open so if you still want to donate now we've successfully completed our challenge, please do! Thanks again.

The Challenge:
At the end of August 2011 myself and a group of friends will be embarking on a monumental 1100 mile cycle ride from Barcelona to Birmingham to raise money for Brain Tumour UK. Our goal is to get ourselves safely back to Birmingham in 10 days.... an ambitious (some might say stupid) 110 miles a day! Most of us are pretty new to this cycling malarkey so it's going to be nothing short of a miracle if we all make it back in one piece!
We will be funding the trip ourselves so every penny we raise will go straight to a really worthy cause! We have set ourselves the mammoth task of raising £10,000 for BTUK so anything you can afford to donate, however big or small would be so gratefully received.
Each penny raised will help us towards achieving the greatest challenge of our lives and hopefully help a few people down the line!
Who are we doing this for?:
Brain Tumour UK
It is estimated that each year around 16,000 people are diagnosed with a primary brain tumour that and another 32,000 people each year may be affected by a secondary brain tumour that started elsewhere in the body. A vast majority of brain tumours are non treatable and a surprisingly small amount is know about their cause.
Brain Tumour UK is the leading, caring charity committed to fighting brain tumours. Their scientific research improves the quality of life for brain tumour patients and identifies better treatments. They raise awareness to change things for the better, for everyone affected by a brain tumour.
My personal story:
A few years ago my Dad, John Bulteel, was diagnosed with an inoperable brain tumour and sadly passed away within months of diagnosis. More devastating than the thought that we may lose someone we love was watching the speed at which the brain tumour affected the things that meant so much to him. A passionate teacher, tennis and hockey player very quickly lost his speech and the use of the right side of his body, which he never regained.
Hopefully the research done by Brain tumour UK will lead to improved prognoses and standard of life for those diagnosed with brain tumours.
