Story
This week I'll be carrying a watermelon everywhere I go to raise money for WaterAid and I'd love your support. Go on - it's heavy and I'll be looking decidedly odd in front of a lot of people all week.
Sadly, millions of girls around the world have to carry dirty water for several hours every day from their nearest water source to their families. We want to change this, so all funds raised will go directly to WaterAid's 'To Be A Girl' campaign to help transform girls futures by providing them with access to safe water and sanitation. And every pound I receive by 8th September will be doubled by the UK government.
You can sponsor me on this page – remember just £15 can transform a life. Or, if you would also like to carry a melon (you know you want to!) you can join our team at http://www.justgiving.com/teams/icarriedawatermelon2014
Those of you who followed me last year will (hopefully) have enjoyed the adventures of SirDavidFrost (the melon) and I look forward to introducing you to SIrDickieAttenborough this year. Dickie may not be as lucky as DavidFrost and manage a helicopter trip, but I'll try to make sure he isn't bored - and nor are you.
Thanks in advance - please email watermelon@belu.org for further information or if you have any queries. And you can find updates, images and activity at www.facebook,con/bakulpatki @bakulp (twitter) @bakulpatki (instagram)
