Wayne was the son of an active member of BIFM North Region Committee who sadly took his life at the age of 30 after struggling with Mental Health Issues for a number of years.

Wayne would have benefited from a residential placement at Retreat York but due to funding there were no places available. 

Like many young people mental illness can sometime be undiagnosed until it is too late.  We need to raise awareness and be able to provide access to facilities such as Retreat York to people of all ages.
