Story
Thank you for visiting our fundraising page, which was set up to raise awareness and funds for the care of adults with autism.
I'm sorry to inform you that my wife, Naomi's mother, who set up this justgiving page and bfk books.com, sadly passed away on July 4th 2014. I know that she would really appreciate your continued contributions towards raising funds for The Disabilities Trust and the awareness of adults with Autism. Thank you, David Warren.
Below is Naomi's story and how The Disabilities Trust's Autism Spectrum Partners helped her:-
Naomi my 40 year old daughter was diagnosed in 2000 at the age of 28, and needed almost 2-1 residential care. With the help of the local social workers team I found Hollyrood, an adult sutism specific residential home run by the Disabilities Trust's, Autistic Spectrum Partners, and it is what I call 'Heaven on Earth'! The love, care and input given to her by her carers 24/7 and the team in the Activities Centre is second to none, and the whole family have seen Naomi grow and change and now, have fantastic quality of life - so please help us in our efforts to make it possible for other Adults with Autism to experience this same 'Heaven on Earth' because Children do grow up!
We need your help in our efforts to raise the funds for equipment, musical intruments, and arts and crafts supplies as the Activities Centre is expanding and helping the residents in the local community. One of the projects in the near future is a drum shed where the residents can make a cacophany of sound!
Donating through this site is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to sponsor our cause. Disabilities Trust will receive your money faster and, if you are a UK taxpayer, an extra 28% in tax will be added to your gift at no cost to you. If you are donating from overseas please use this link http://www.xe.com/ucc/ to calculate your donation in English pounds.
Many thanks for your support with Love from Vicky at BFKautism. Please have a peruse of my website www.bfkbooks.com and see what we are doing.
