THE PROPHET (SAW) SAID:
"Whoever relieves the hardship of a fellow Muslim, Allah will relieve them from hardship on the Day of Judgement." SAHIH MUSLIM
Assualamu Alaykum,
A volcano on the Indonesian island of Sulawesi erupted on Wednesday, just days after a devastating earthquake and tsunami struck the island, killing over 1,400. The eruption sent ash flying into the air, affecting flights and creating further delays in aid.
85% of homes in Palu have been destroyed, and over 60,000 people are internally displaced, living on the streets. People are in shock following the sudden onset of so many catastrophes in such a small amount of time, and live in perpetual fear that another disaster could strike at any moment. Even those whose houses are still standing are sleeping in the open air, terrified that their homes might collapse.
Many areas have been completely cut off due to landslides, blocked roads and damage to infrastructure. At present, we are unable to understand the full extent of the catastrophe as communication and power remain down, however the death toll is rising daily and is expected to increase sharply once the full extent of the crisis is revealed.
At PennyAppeal we are trying to raise money in order to help the people of Indonesia during this catastrophic event. Any amount you are willing to donate will be very much appreciated and will go a long way for them.
