Story
Those of you who know me will realise that I'm relatively new to any form of endurance exercise so this is a big deal for me - I started in 2011 with my first 5K run, completed my first 10K run and now I'm running another 10Ker in May... and I'm going to give hiking the Yorkshire Three Peaks a go in June!
The aim is to conquer Pen-y-Ghent ( 691 metres), Whernside(728 metres) and Ingleborough (723 metres) - a total walking distance of 39.3km - in under 12 hours.
I'm going as part of the PageGroup team, to raise money for our chosen charity Alzheimer's Research UK. This charity funds crucial scientific research and needs more support to make further breakthroughs in the fight against Alzheimer's.
My grandfather suffered from dementia so it's a cause close to home. I'm sure we've all witnessed the wide-ranging consequences of this awful disease. So you'll understand how important it is that we try to support research into ways to prevent and treat it, and maybe even one day find a cure.
I might not be a scientist, but I can (try to) hike three mountains and raise money to support those who are! Every donation helps - even a couple of GBP/NZD/AUD/USD adds up!
Please take just a couple of minutes to donate - I really appreciate your support.
