Story
I started working with Carney's Community just under a year ago now, and since that time I have met some of the nicest and most persevering people ever.
After graduating with a degree in Criminology, I wanted to work to help to reduce offending and re-offending in a way that really made an impact and a difference. After being introduced to George Turner through a mutual friend, I started volunteering and working with Carney's Community. Being able to work in such a great environment with such great people whilst also being able to make a difference in a blessing. However, Carney's Community really need the funds to be able to continue the good work that they do.
I have learnt a lot since working with Carney's Community, but more than anything I have learnt that people can change, and invariably they want to change, but often just need a little helping hand. Carney's are that helping hand in their community, and there are hundreds of people of all ages that will testify to that.
Last year I ran Tough Mudder to raise money for a children's orphanage in Africa, this year I want to raise money for something a little closer to home. I will be throwing myself out of a plane, along with 11 other people who either work with or for Carney's Community to try and raise the necessary funds for Carney's to continue their good work.
