We fund bone cancer research & grant wishes to seriously ill people #makingmemories

Story

I am taking part in the Wobbleberry Challenge, a group of unfit, over 40s, wimpy horse riders who are challenging themselves to complete a British Eventing 80 class before the end of 2017.

No big challenge you may think but eventing has 3 disciplines in one day, first dressage... yes that dancing stuff that was on the Olympics... which I haven't done since I was 20 and struggle to make my horse do circles without corners in an arena.

The second phase is show-jumping, and whilst I may be a British Show Jumping judge in my spare time, I struggle to jump my horse over 50cm never mind a full course over 80cm.

The third phase is cross country, miles of riding over big solid build fences that have absolutly no give in them. I have an inbuilt fear of flying... from my horse, the photo on my page is of my one good attempt 2 years ago over a single fence and since I have come up with every excuse not to go over that height again.

My partner in this challenge is Master Peter, my long suffering equine partner, who I am sure will provide lots of laughs at my expense throughout my challenge!

It's now time to put my big girl pants on and I'm doing it in memory of an amazing young lady who sadly lost her life to cancer this year. But whilst facing her biggest fear she set up a charity to grant sick children their equine wishes.

Event rider Hannah Francis was truely inspirational and if she can face cancer with the bravery she did, I can face this challenge in her honour.
