Story
Steve, Maggie, Nigel & Anne have undertaken several long distance walks and raised some money in the process. When their great friend Susie Tanner died last year they agreed that this year's walk would be in her memory and will raise money for Breast Cancer Care.
This time we plan to walk the length of the three Tynes - the Tyne; the South Tyne and the North Tyne - approx 130 miles. We started in February and plan to finish before Christmas (2010!!). The Tyne walk does not exist so we plan to develop it and publish it on the web. We will allow free access to route descriptions and corresponding OS map info but we are encouraging people to donate in lieu of payment to download.

Susie was a native of the North-East and studied fashion at the then Northumbria Polytechnic. Susie died in July 2009 after living with breast cancer for nine years. She was 59. She knew Tyneside well and we hope that this walk and ongoing website will enable her many friends (known & unknown) around the world to donate to Breast Cancer Care in her memory.
