Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

In July, 2014, my son, Ben, was diagnosed with Crohn's Disease. He spent over a year recovering from the onset of this debilitating illness and is now, thankfully, in remission. But Crohn's currently has no cure; only drugs to manage the condition. That's why we are raising money: to give him, and thousands like him, the chance of a cure.

Professor Hermon-Taylor is researching a possible vaccine and cure Crohn's at King's College in London. He has spent his life researching the disease and believes that MAP bacteria is responsible. He has developed an accurate test for MAP and a vaccine that, if successful, would represent hope for sufferers around the world. We are helping to raise money for this fantastic research and the chance it gives people with Crohn's. Trials for the vaccine have already begun so it's a really exciting time for the research.
