MADE IT! I completed the swim this morning - the last 50 lengths. Raised a cheer from my fellow early-morning swimmers, which was great. I am very happy to have completed this challenge for such a worthy cause. Thank you so much to everyone who has donated.

At the 20 mile mark now. Nearly there! I think I can just see the French coast! Please help me to raise more funds for those with spinal injuries by donating to sponsor me. Thanks. Ann x

Now I am getting somewhere! 17.1 miles across. Only a short swim this morning. Thank you everyone for your generous donations. I know I will be able to finish this challenge and hopefully we will all be able to help towards making a difference to those with spinal injuries. Ann x

Managed to swim four times this week and have built up a total of 264 lengths for the week! This means that I am now 16.3 miles across the Channel and only have another 5.7 miles to go. Got my copy in to the local paper and have already been recognised and had offers of more sponsorship, so yours will add to the funds I am helping to raise for this very worthy charity. Ann x

Really going strong now. 14.3 miles across. No-one else seems to be doing the swim in my local pool at Tenby Leisure Centre, haven't seen anyone else with the swim cap anyway. I have sent some copy to the local paper, Tenby Observer which is out on Friday and also online, so you may see me there. Please donate as this is such a worthwhile charity doing such good work. Thanks. Ann x

More than half-way across the Channel now, 12.2 miles! I never thought I would get there, so its all down hill from here, but only up hill for all those who will benefit from your donations to help with the spinal injuries charity Aspire.
Please donate all you can for this very worthy charity.

The main fireworks today are me being pleased to be 9.4 miles across the Channel. I have got 180 lengths under my belt this week so feel really happy now that my efforts are going towards raising some money for this very worthy cause. Please help me towards my target by donating any amount, great or small. Thank you all. x

After being away for a week I have spent the rest of the time recovering from a heavy cold and cough. But, got back to the pool this morning and swam 60 lengths. This means that I am now 5.7 miles across the Channel. Only 16.3 miles to go or 1,016 lengths - whichever you prefer. Thanks to everyone who has sponsored me so far.

Just been away for a week. Only managed to fit in one swim of 40 lengths unforunately, but my total is now 310 lengths which is 4.8 miles across the Channel. Got a very heavy cold at present and no voice (to speak of!!). Don't plan to swim again until Tuesday so hope to be fitter by then.
29 September 2010
Two good swims of 50 lengths each have now taken me to 4.1 miles across The Channel and a total of 270 lengths. Only 1146 lengths to go!

Just finished a good week of swimming. Went three times and completed 40 lengths each time. Have now reached a total of 170 lengths in my local pool. Only 1246 to go! The Aspire Channel Swim map shows that I have swum 2.6 miles across the Channel to date!
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
I love to swim but recently, having found out that I have my own lumbar spine problems I thought it would be good to help to try and raise money for supporting people with spinal injury. This way I can keep myself as fit as possible with my problem and do some good and hopefully make a difference for those who are not as lucky as I.
