Story
I have been chosen to participate in the International Citizen Service scheme, which is open to 18-25 year olds. ICS is the UK's leading volunteering programme for young people and develops projects aimed at fighting poverty through local people and volunteers working together. I will be volunteering with the charity International Service. It covers Latin America, West Africa and the Middle East. For more information, visit: www.internationalservice.org.uk .
The projects I will be working on target education and human rights, particularly in regards to the treatment of women, young people, the disabled and children. Those of you who know me know that I am always banging on about society, and that education and human rights are subjects that are very close to my heart, and I hope to gain as much from the experience as I put in!
I will be going to Bolivia from January to March 2015. However, I have made a commitment to International Service that I will raise £1500 before I leave: £750 by the 28th November, the full amount by the 19th December. I want to stress that the money does not go towards paying for my own expenses, but goes directly to International Service to contribute to all of its projects.
I will be doing a range of sponsored activities between now and Christmas, so keep checking to see what I'm up to! There will be photos, videos and even music. I would really appreciate whatever support you can give, from donations to publicity, thank you so much!!!
