Story
We are raising money to help people with severe heart and lung disease, who are being cared for at Papworth Hospital.
In 1993 I had a heart transplant due to a complex congenital heart disease. Since then I've finished my education and developed a career in the voluntary sector; fallen in love, got married and become a mum.
This year I am learning to swim. As a family of 4, we are also planning to climb Snowdon in May 2015. My two children are 9 and 12.
Other challenges I have set myself in recent years include:
- 2014 walking the Yorkshire Three Peaks
- 2013 walking most of Hadrian’s Wall plus 19 other new things that I’d never done before, including climbing, sailing and flying a Tiger Moth.
This is in thanks to the family of my donor whose kindness changed my life and all the staff who have cared for me over the last twenty TWO PLUS years at the Freeman Hospital where I had my operation and at Papworth Hospital, who now provide my continuing care.
