Hi, I'm Angela Madsen and I am a paraplegic ocean rower and Paralympic bronze medallist (London 2012).  I am setting off from California on June 8 2013 to row to Hawaii.  I shall be rowing solo in my boat ‘Spirit of Orlando’ with no support vessel.  My aim is to raise funds for Orlando Rogers Foundation in the UK as well as military veterans elsewhere.  This page is dedicated just to fundraising for Orlando Rogers Foundation.

Spirited Adventurer and friend Orlando Rogers was tragically killed in a plane crash on May 15 2011.  He was 26 years of age and was a Royal Marine.  I met Orlando when rowing the Atlantic.  We remained friends and supported each other in various projects.  I was saddened by the news of his passing but inspired to attempt this row.

 

I shall be setting off from Santa Cruz, California and rowing to Waikiki, Oahu, Hawaii a distance of approximately 2500 miles which I estimate will take 80 -100 days.
