Wobbleberry Challenge · 23 September 2016
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
Ok so those of you who know me will know that I regularly post photos on line of me very proudly jumping around 30cm's on my very large horse Casper. I have decided to take the challenge of doing a BE80T event - for those that don't know this is a professional competition which consists of a dressage test, showjumps and cross country jumps all on one day. The wobbleberries challenge is aimed at middle aged people who are too frightened and perhaps should know better than to set themselves daft challenges such as competing on a BE80T event and although I don't class myself as middle aged (just yet) the other two requirements I certainly agree with !
So bearing in mind my favourite type of jump is a pole on the floor and the most consistent comment I get on a dressage test is "nice horse needs to be more supple" this is going to be a real challenge.
So why now - firstly its about time the hoss got chance to jump something higher than a school ruler secondly this challenge will help me push myself and my partnership with Casper whilst allowing me to raise money for the worthwhile cause of "Willberry Wonder Pony". This charity raises funds for bone cancer research and grants equine wishes to seriously ill people.
For those of you that think this wont be a challenge - think again ! I am ok with the dressage and maybe ok with the showjumping give or take a few months practising and putting my brave pants on. The real challenge for me and Casper will be the cross country element - big solid fences scare me and to clear them I need to show Casper that they don't scare me, push him forward whilst probably closing my eyes and hope for the best! As far as I am aware Casper has never done a big cross country - he likes to spook as we go along the one at my yard so it should be a fun filled scary journey.
