Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
I am wanting to raise funds for the Bradford Burns Unit - so if you are a Barnsley or City (or any) supporter, search for the 'Barnsley Football Club Supporters' page on this site . Me and my son Tom are joining several other fans and spending the night / morning walking from Barnsley's stadium to Bradford City's before watching the game between the two teams on Saturday the 26th April. The day after, I am cycling back to Barnsley for my car ! ! ! That's got to be worth an extra quid ;-)
ALSO, to raise further funds for the same cause .........
A friend has helped organise an event on 3rd May 2015 to raise funds for the Bradford Burns Unit on what will be the 30th anniversary of the tragic Bradford City Fire. It is going to be a phenomenal event and I can't praise highly enough his organisational skills. I had family there on the day of the fire and as a Bradford lad myself I was devastated - it's a cause close to every Bradfordians heart.
The trouble is - I can't attend, as I had signed up to ride the Tour De Yorkshire cycle sportive on the same day (I will try make a pint later in the day Danny).
So I thought why don't I just ask for donations from my friends for the same cause as the walk, then I know I can say I have done my bit to contribute. So please help me raise funds and give generously.
I am doing the medium route (109k / 70 miles) which is a bit of an effort for a big lad approaching a 'milestone' birthday :-) We leave Roundhay Park in Leeds and take in Harewood, Menston, Bingley, Cullingworth, Oxenhope, Addingham, Ilkley, Otley and back to Roundhay, hopefully before the Pro's catch us later in the day ! The more you give, the more determined I will be to do it and do it in style.
