Story
I've had Crohn’s disease for a while now so it won't come as a surprise for you to learn that the Crohn’s in Childhood Research Association (CICRA) is a charity that is very close to my heart.
Crohn’s disease is a chronic inflammatory bowel disease that affects the whole digestive system. Symptoms include a massive amount of abdominal pain, weight loss and extreme tiredness. Little is known about the disease and there is currently no known cure. This is why it is really important that CICRA continue their work!
CICRA is a charity dedicated to creating a wider understanding of Crohn’s disease and Ulcerative Colitis. It helps to fund approved research projects in major gastroenterological centres nationwide leading to new and better treatments for sufferers. It focusses on supporting children who are suffering with IBD and also gives guidance to parents and carers of children using people who have been through the same experiences.
Since being officially diagnosed, Crohn's has impacted my life enormously. I have to live my daily life with it, there is no cure and it hurts like hell. I can take it, but there are kids out there who simply don’t deserve to. It breaks my heart to see kids have to go through the same pain I do. It’s not fair and we have to do something about it.
Last year we raised a fantastic amount and we want to do just as well if not better this year! Please dig deep and help CICRA continue its crucial work.
Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - I raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.
Any donation no matter how big can and will make a massive difference to children's lives. Hopefully together we can raise as much money as possible for CICRA, as well as raise awareness of Crohn’s and Ulcerative Colitis along the way!
Thank you to everyone who’s donated to this cause over the years, it really means a lot and I’m truly grateful for your continued support!
