Story

I was made disabled in 2008 after having some corrective surgery.  I was diagnosed with a very rare vascular disorder that has never been seen before.
I refused to accept that I would need to spend the rest of my life using a mobility scooter to get about in.  In July 2014 I was supposed to be having a life changing operation which I had worked and fought hard for in the last four years.  We were travelling up and down to London from Scotland with lots of tests being made by professors and many vascular surgeons.  Four days before my operation I had a minor procedure to aid the surgeons in there operation, the result of this was never expected.  We were dealt the deverstaing blow that my condition was far worse than first thought and if they were to operate as planned they would kill me. To say my world had collapsed was an understatement.  Thankfully I have had the support of some wonderful people and they have been there threw the majority of my journey and they are, Poppy Scotland & SSAFA.  I would love give something back to these charities and that is why I have chosen to do this challange of traveling 100 miles in 48 hours from Widdrington in Northumberland to the poppy Scotland offices in Edinburgh.  Why100 miles? As it coincides with 100 years of the First World War.   I aim to finish my challenge on 11th November at 11am, Armistice day. If all goes well with the challange then in March 2015 I aim to try and smash the world record for traveling from Lands End to John O Groats which stands at 24 days and 9 hours.  I aim to try and halve this record.  Please support me in this challenge and help me to be able to give something back to these amazing charities.
Many thanks
