I have never done anything like this before. My idea of generous charitable giving was doing the lottery or texting Comic Relief with a donation.

As many of you who know me are aware, I am partial to the good life especially when it comes to good food and vino.  Over the years  experience tells you that a 40 something can't hack the pace of a 20 something and therefore attention needs to be paid to being good to enjoy a good life.  I have been wanting to lose weight and get a little fitter and always found a reason why and then found excuse.  I want to be here to see lots of the things that old people should see such as their kids growing up and seeing them getting hitched.  I want to get old with Georgina and for us to babysit our grandchildren.  Any way at the risk of sounding too sentimental I decided that raising money for a worthwhile cause and getting fit was a great idea. Hence the madness of a 10k run!

Your donations and motivational comments really do help spur me on. Also, I can't bail out now because of the donations and that people need the money.  I can honestly say it is a great way to get you off your backside to do something.
