We increase the pool of stem cell donors to give patients a second chance of life

Story

Guys,

I'm hiking 3 mountains this June and I need your help!

I am taking on this challenge with GoCardless, in support of our Chief Revenue Officer and GC team-player: AG – and to raise money for his chosen charity, DKMS.

Started in Germany, DKMS has gone on to build the largest database of bone marrow donors in the World (8 million people, leading  to 75,000 donor bone marrow transplants), which are needed to help save the lives of many people with a blood cancer or blood disorder.

To give you a bit of context,  when I cycled to Paris, AG was one of the nicest people who kept encouraging and helping me overcome the tough hills to Brighton. Now, he needs all of our support and I am ready to go 24 hours with no sleep and loads of blisters for this great cause! You can read more about AG's story here: https://andrewgilboy.com/

The Three Peaks are the tallest mountains of Scotland, England and Wales: Ben Nevis (1345m), Scafell Pike (976m) and Snowdon (1085m). The challenge, I will be taking on, is to hike all three consecutively, as quickly as possible (we’re aiming for <24 hours).

Every little counts!

Many thanks,

Anca

Someone is diagnosed with blood cancer in the UK every 20 minutes, and many will need a blood stem cell transplant for a second chance at life. We are committed to increasing the number of potential blood stem cell donors in the UK, so that there is a donor for everyone who needs one.
