I'm walking the Shine London Marathon in the fight against Pancreatic Cancer

On Saturday night, 28 September 2013, I'll be taking to the streets of London with Ness, Jen and Emma to walk the long 26.2 mile route through the night in aid of Cancer Research, specifically Pancreatic Cancer.
As many of you know, just three years ago I lost my lovely brother, Chris, to this awful disease which, as with many other sufferers, crept up on him undetected. Just two brief months after being diagnosed Chris lost his short but valiant battle with cancer at the tender age of 38. If a day has gone by without thinking of Chris I'd be very surprised and it feels good to be raising some essential funds for Pancreatic Cancer Research in his memory.
Walking a night marathon will be a challenge for me. Whilst I'm a keen hiker, often found rambling the British countryside and climbing the odd mountain here and there, I have never attempted this distance. I'm looking forward to the experience, the route takes us through some of London's most iconic landmarks and parks through the night. We'll also be joining other passionate cancer research supporters who will each have their own special story.
I know many people reach out for sponsorship so I'll understand if you can't sponsor me. However, if you can, any amount you donate will be matched by our companies, Mercer and Marsh (up to a total of £600). If you're a UK taxpayer remember to add Gift Aid which will increase your donation by up to 25p for every pound you donate.
Many thanks
Amy
