Amanda's Wobbleberry Challenge

Amanda & Boots Wobbleberry Challenge to complete a BE80 by the end of 2017 · 27 September 2016
Many of my friends will have heard of Hannah Francis and her unbelievably brave fight with cancer. Her determination to make some good from her situation resulted in her setting up the charity - Willberry Wonder Pony.
Some crazy people decided that if Hannah could achieve what she had managed then the rest of us should put ourselves out of our comfort zones and the Wobbleberry Challenge was born...
So what is a BE80? - BE stands for British Eventing and the 80 refers to the height of the fences (80cm high and up 125cm wide). BE80 is the entry level for British eventing so don't expect to see us long listed for the Olympics any time soon! Eventing consists of three phases; dressage (think dancing horses), show jumping (think Harvey Smith, only a fair bit smaller) and cross country (think crazy adrenaline junkies jumping solid fences) My partner in crime is the lovely Boots, she's 6 years old and only 14.1hh in height (and the poor mare has to lug my ample backside over each fence!)
A kind friend offered me "a proper" event horse for this challenge but to me the challenge is in getting there with what I've got (sorry Boots!). The fences certainly look bigger on a pony, not to mention there is less neck in front of you on landing! But Boots is a chipper little thing with the heart of a lion so I'm happy with my partner (not sure she would say the same about me?!)
Please look up Willberry Wonder Pony, follow our progress and if you feel you can, please donate. Many Thanks.
