Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - I raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.
So please dig deep and donate now.
For those of you who don't know much about me, I am a volunteer with Girlguiding UK. I help with a Rainbow unit, and from September I will be running the Guide Unit in Ystrad Mynach.
Girlguiding UK celebrates it’s centenary in 2010 and has set up special Centenary Challenges which are fundraising events to benefit disadvantaged girls in the organisation. I, (in a moment of weakness!), have signed up for one of these challenges. In November 2010 I will be participating in the Cuba Coast to Coast Trek to raise money for disadvantaged girls. I will be trekking 90km in 5 days over the Escambray Mountain range in Cuba, (reaching heights similar to Scafell Pike!), camping out along the route. And all in 28 degrees!! It's not going to be easy, but I feel it is worth it. One condition of this trek is that I raise at least £2,500 in sponsorship. Although some of the sponsorship goes to cover some of the expenses in Cuba, the majority of the sponsorship goes to the charity. I have to meet all other costs and any shortfall. I hope that you might be able to help me in some way, however small. I have already organised promotional items to sell at local events and amongst Girlguiding membership at my own expense. Photos of badges are on this page. These are available to buy from me at: milliemand@btinternet.com Also use this address to let me know if you would prefer to pay by cash or cheque. I realise that at the moment times may be harder than usual, but I feel that Girlguiding offers such good experiences and provides girls with such good qualities, that this is a cause worth supporting. It really does stand them in good stead for later life.Thank you for taking the time out to look at my page. I hope it might have tempted you in some way.
So please sponsor me now!
UPDATES
I thought I would keep people up to date with my endeavours on the fundraising front. I had a stall at the Chepstow Show and will be attending various fetes and shows - doing hairbraiding.
I also have a stock of badges and pins that I have designed, and am hoping to sell to any interested parties, particularly Guiding and Scouting, who like to collect these. Contact me at milliemand@btinternet.com if you are interested. Or if you would prefer to pay cash or cheque.
Here's a taster for you!
