Story
The daughter of friends of ours, 11 year old Vanessa Riddle was diagnosed with Stage 4 (High Risk) Neuroblastoma, a difficult to treat form of childhood cancer. Since February 09 Vanessa has gone through many rounds of chemotherapy treatment and surgery and in August last year she was given the all clear only for the cancer to return in December. The NHS has now run out of treatment options and her next step is to travel for pioneering treatment at The Children's Hospital in Philedelphia in the US. This will cost £500,000.
I have been inspired to join the fundraising team not only by Vanessa's amazing bravery but by the passion , energy and expertise shown by her family and friends in starting the fundrasing campaign. Already in just over a week over £100,000 has been raised and with a three month window, the challenging target of £500,000 looks reachable.
For every £1 that is donated through my page I will, in return, endeavour to run / walk / swim / row / cycle 1 km between now and the year end.
